my lament

i sit here as the darkness that fills the world blots out my vision of the light.

woe to this world who teaches us that there is no consequences

woe to this world who encourages us to live only for ourselves

woe to this world who lies and twists the truth

woe to this world who seeks only to kill and destroy

i fear for the future of this generation.

i fear for my children and those being born into the ugliness of this world

i cannot see a future with goodness, only that filled with excuses

i hear the choices being made by the next generation, and i feel like Ezra, that i should tear my clothes, pull out my hair, and wail in the street.

what will it take to wake up this broken world?! THESE CHOICES YOU ARE MAKING HAVE LIFELONG CONSEQUENCES. each bad choice leads to another in avoidance of the consequences. this is not life worth living, it is a shovel that digs further with each choice, just waiting until you fall into the pit you have dug, leaving you trapped in the dark.

Selah

Today I pray the words of Habakkuk 3:2: O LORD, I have heard the report of you, and your work, O LORD, do I fear. In the midst of the years revive it; in the midst of the years make it known; in wrath remember mercy.

In your wrath, please, O LORD, remember mercy.

And he is a merciful God. Though the consequences be real, he is waiting with open arms for all who seek him. He sees each choice and, with tears pouring down his face, whispers, “And still I love you. You are worth so much more than this.”

Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16

in your wrath, O LORD, remember mercy….

Please join with me in praying for this broken generation that continues to buy into the lies of the world; there is nothing more important than this, that we continually pray.
